My secret combo

One thing to know about me is that I am obsessed with my skin especially around my eyes. Some day I will post a picture of all my eye, face, neck etc anti-aging products. Truly I need a 12 step program. I have written about my darling Caudalie eye serum and how much it changed my life. However I do have a secret. There is a cream that I use in combination with the serum to really step up the results. It was designed as a face cream and it is to die for. I get a tear in my eye when I hear the stories of what this cream can do. ( I know I've said I'm not emotional but hearing stories of people whose lines and wrinkles are fading gets me every time.) This cream is beyond words. It is thick but not greasy. It is made entirely by hand in a monastery.

Creme Ancienne by Fresh

truly wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!!!!!!!!!!

the holy grail of eye creams

ok, so I have promised products reviews. I thought I would start with something big, something that I can not live with out. The holy grail of eye creams. Honestly when I was given this product I was not that excited. There are so many wonderful products out there. After using it for just a week I knew I would never be without this eye serum again.

Caudalie - anti-aging serum eyes and lips

This serum is amazing, it is for all skin types. It contains grapevine resveratrol, fern, tetrapeptides and more. It can be used under the eye and on the eyelid. My eye area looks better now than it did three years ago!!!!!!!! I'm addicted.

naming my blog

Let me just start off by saying that coming up with a name for my blog was more difficult than naming my children. The biggest concern I had when naming my boys was will they get their ass kicked for this name? Some people feel they need to see their child first, get to know their personality. Trust me, you don't see their true personality the first few weeks. Some of the greatest kids I know where horribly colic babies. So back to the blog, I wanted the tittle to be sassy, creative and fun. I wanted it to mean something and make people want to read it. ( Blogdorf Goodman has to be the best name out there.) So I did some research which took so much longer than expected. If I thought of a great name and someone was using it I had to read what they wrote. Then I had a brain block and could not think of anything creative. I will not tell you how many hours I wasted on this task, but if anyone knows of a good support group for people who become obsessive over minor things please let know. So I finally settled on the idea that it would mean something. Here is the story behind the name. During both of my pregnancies I suffered from hyperemosis. Which means I threw up all day, everyday for the first 20weeks of my pregnancy. My day was pretty much like this, wake up, dry heave, try to eat and take a quick shower before my breakfast came up. throw up, drive to work, say good morning, throw up, check email, dry heave, try to eat lunch, throw up, work, throw up, drive home and pray that I don't throw up in my car. Get home throw up, hook up to an IV and go to bed. It was so bad that it did not even phase my husband to see me get sick, now girls you know that's bad. After doing this for weeks I had no energy left and took a leave from work. As I type this I can not believe I had a second child. I got to the point where I could no longer drive myself to my doctor appointments. My mom came to my rescue. I love my mom dearly, however, there I was feeling good if I showered before my appointment and wouldn't you know every time she would look at me and say........... ..Honey, you need to put on a little lipstick, your all washed out!!!!!!!!!!

how it all began

I had two things motivate me to start this blog.
1. My gym has been closed for the past week. So I have had more time to check my email ( which is code for more time to read perez's gossip site and other blogs). This motivated me to start my own blog. After all I am a self proclaimed expert on skin care, cosmetics, fashion and reality TV. ( wow don't I sound interesting!!!!!) Who doesn't like to dish the dirt on celebrities, hey it builds my self esteem.
2. On a more heartfelt note I had a dear friend pass away last week. ( A. D. D. moment, why do people go up to the casket and say, "she looks good, so peaceful." I have never been to a funeral where the person "looked good." For the record no one looks good in orange pancake make-up. I will admit her boobs looked fantastic. Everyone agreed , she would have been proud. Note to self, call funeral home and get the name of the bra.) Anyway in last few years of her life she wrote some wonderful words of wisdom, being that she was a teacher her words were truly heartfelt and meaningful. It motivated me to write. I will admit I have a hard time being heartfelt. I am better at facts and sarcasm. So take this for what it is, product reviews, dishing the dirt, my interests with a little dark wit. Now go put your lips on!!!
